Wafer Paper Thickness Guide: Choose 0.3, 0.4, 0.6 or 0.8 mm
“Wafer paper” is not one single feel. The thickness changes whether a decoration lies lightly, holds its shape or stands as an accent. Choosing by the job first can save trimming, redesigning and last-minute surprises.
Edible Final Touch’s premium wafer paper is currently offered in four thicknesses. Here is the simplest way to compare them.
Match the thickness to the role
- 0.3 mm—thin and flexible. The product page lists it for drink toppers and dissolvable decorations. Because liquids and serving conditions vary, test one topper in the actual drink instead of assuming a universal float or softening time.
- 0.4 mm—light and semi-flexible. Choose it for flat toppers or decorative pieces that do not need to stand upright.
- 0.6 mm—semi-firm. This is the listed cupcake-topper option when you want a round decoration with more body that can hold its shape on icing.
- 0.8 mm—firmest. Start here for sturdy shapes and stand-up designs, then confirm the support and placement on your finished dessert.

Drink or very light piece: 0.3 mm. Flat decoration: 0.4 mm. Cupcake topper: 0.6 mm. Upright accent: 0.8 mm. When two options seem possible, order or test a sample before the event.
Two checks before ordering
Preview the artwork at finished size. Fine wording that looks clear on a phone may become difficult to read on a small topper. Name the end use. Include the finished size and whether the piece will lie flat, sit on icing, meet a drink or stand upright.
Explore the wafer paper options and select the thickness that matches your design. Edible Final Touch supplies the printed decoration; you or your baker supplies the dessert or drink.
